Repair Guides
There are quite of few professionally made guides on the market. But what sets them apart from each other? Why should you pay for a guide when you can watch a video for free? Well, here are a list of the features that most all the guides offer. I do not endorse one guide over the other. You as the buyer need to do your due diligence and investigate what is being offered by each seller.
If you are the type of person who wants help along the way, then a support line or chat is going to be important to you and you may want to purchase a guide that offers that feature. The more problems and error codes the guide will fix the better. Most guides let you know what they will fix before you buy. Make sure the problem you are having is listed in the litany of problems they say their guide will fix.
PDF Guide with pictures
The more information the better I say. If I can get a guide I can download, then great. I think this is pretty much of a given though. I really would expect this from any Repair Guide I was buying.
Access to Membership Area
I like this. I can log on and review threads where other fellow Xbox 360 owners have had the same problems I have had and probably the same questions. I would probably count this as a big plus during my evaluation.
Online Support
If this available 24 hours then I am all over it. The reason being, I am probably going to be playing in the middle of the night when my Xbox 360 decides to die. So if I can get online and talk to somebody live and get an answer, then this would be a very big plus for me. But that is just me. Not everybody needs or wants this feature in a guide.
